Announcing Our 2024 Q2 HOPE Hero Tammee Nevergall!

We’re thrilled to announce that the HOPE Hero for Q2 of 2024 is Tamara (Tammee) Nevergall, Testing Clinician and Psychotherapist, Big Lake! Tammee received this recognition at the Big Lake staff meeting on October 24th, where she was joined by Jean Ysbrand, Chief Human Resources Officer; Doug Foote, Chief Operations Officer; Heather Bodurtha, Psychological Testing Director; and Lisa Thistle, Director of Clinical Operations.

Our HOPE Hero Award honors one individual each quarter who exemplifies our HOPE Values—Humility, Optimism, Person-Centered Care, and Ethical Practice. Comments from Tammee’s nominators show exactly why she was selected. One person shared, “Tammee demonstrates genuine care, concern, and empathy for her clients and everyone she works with. She works hard to meet her clients’ needs and is especially patient with those who may be struggling.” Another colleague noted, “Tammee exudes unwavering ethics and integrity. She consistently seeks guidance and collaborates with others when necessary, showcasing a genuine passion for excellence in all that she does.”

In addition to her dedication to patients and her team, Tammee went above and beyond when she saw an email last year asking if anyone would consider kidney donation to help a colleague. Though she didn’t know the recipient personally, Tammee felt compelled to help and began the process to see if she was a match. When it was determined she wasn’t a direct match, Tammee donated through a paired donation program, ultimately moving her colleague higher on the transplant list and they've now received one! Before Thanksgiving, Tammee discovered she was a perfect match for someone else, and she went on to donate her kidney in December.

Her incredible act of kindness and willingness to give so selflessly inspire us all to bring greater compassion and generosity into our own lives.

Tammee recently celebrated her 5-year anniversary with Nystrom in September and is a cherished member of both the Big Lake team and the psychological testing team. Reflecting on this recognition, she shared, “I was so shocked to receive this recognition, and I am honored to be a part of Nystrom!”
