More About Adam Retterath
Clinical Interests:
My primary focus is working with couples to resolve various kinds of problems present in the relationship. I also work with anger issues and general emotional regulation. I also have plenty of experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other concerns tied to mental health such as food, physical health, spirituality.
Clinical Approach:
I approach therapy with a collaborative and holistic mindset. Depending on what is going on for my clients, we start with basic skills (communication, breathing, etc.) and lifestyle choices. From there we explore further what problems are showing up and what will be most helpful. With couples, I follow the Gottman’s theory for treatment. For all client’s, I use an integrated approach combining solution focused, narrative, person centered, and systems based theories/therapy. My purpose is to help you find solutions and healing for your specific needs.
Hobbies:
I’m a nerd at the core. Besides general nerdy things, I also enjoy being outside hiking or exploring nature and gardening. Our pets are a good source of entertainment and stress relief as my phone’s camera roll would obviously suggest. I am also a beekeeper and environmental enthusiast.
