More About Ali Becker
Clinical Interests:
I graduated last July with my masters degree in social work at Augsburg University. I have experience applying and helping clients learn dialectical behavioral therapy. I would like to continue to learn more therapy models such as trauma support, EMDR therapy, CBT, psychodynamic theory, etc. My goal is to be an eclectic therapist, meaning that I can use many models and work with a wide array of clients. This enables me to not only gain more therapeutic knowledge, but also the ability to apply this knowledge when working with clients.
Clinical Approach:
I believe in meeting clients where they are at. To me, this means where are you in your journey? Where do you want to go? What would you like to change in your life? What is benefitting you and what isn’t. I believe that collaboration with clients is a big component of therapy as this ensures that they are getting their needs met. I have a year of experience using solution focus, narrative therapy, and strengths based approach at my internship, Associated Clinic of Psychology. In addition I also have experience with dialectical behavioral therapy and helping clients, learn, and apply these skills to their everyday life.
Hobbies:
I enjoy hiking with my dog, Gus, hanging out with friends and family, watching shows on Netflix, and drinking coffee.
