More About Alicia Lindley

Clinical Interests:

Hello! My name is Alicia and I have been counseling since 2015. Not only do I enjoy my job, but I truly believe counseling works. But like most things, you get what you put in!

I appreciate coming along individuals who need hope and encouragement to push past their current situations and emotions to a better tomorrow. I work with children as young as 5 up to seniors. I have experience working with primary caregivers, caring for elderly parents, or significant others with health/mental health conditions.

Working with individuals during changing seasons in life- adjustment disorders.

Developing heathy eating habits. (Training around eating disorders and nutrition and mental health.

I’m kind of eclectic in my approaches and client base. I enjoy working with youth, individuals, couples and families. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to; anxiety, depression, grief/loss, postpartum, trauma, marriage, boundaries, personal growth, seasons of adjustment, caregiver stress, developing healthy eating habits, and biblical counseling.

Clinical Approach:

If you haven’t noticed by my intro, I tend to be dynamic and engaging. I’m not the kind of therapist that just nods my head and says, “How does that make you feel?”

I look at each person as a unique individual. You don’t fit in a box and I don’t try to make that happen. I will consider you individually and where you are at in your healing journey. We will work together to develop a plan specifically for you.

I tend to start by utilizing solution focused techniques. Why? Because if we work on helping create balance and some change, that can bring pretty quick shifts that encourage further motivation to work towards lasting change!

I have a bunch of techniques up my sleeves, including CTB/ TF-CBT, DBT informed, solution focused, motivational interviewing and Christian/Biblical counseling.

Hobbies:

I’m pretty eclectic in my hobbies and interests as well. I enjoy crafts, writing and music! I’d love to engage some of the wonderful culture available in Minnesota, as I’m originally from Boston and still haven’t explored all that’s offered here. I have a lovely cat named Tiger Lily, aka Tigah!
