More About Amber Kost
Clinical Interests:
I work with children, adolescents, and their families who might be experiencing: Depression, Anxiety, Attachment issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD (Attention-Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder), and children experiencing behavioral issues.
Clinical Approach:
There are a few clinical approaches I utilize depending on where each individual client is at in their journey towards wellness. These approaches include strengths-based and solution-focused approaches, collaboratively exploring how to improve a client or child’s overall functioning. I am strongly influenced by the Satir’s Communication Approach and the Family Systems Approach and examining what impact family dynamics have on a person’s development and ways of interacting with others. I also incorporate: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Symbolic-Experiential Therapy, and Motivational interviewing.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family either at home or the outdoors! I enjoy working out, going on walks with my dog, watching Netflix (if I have time), and painting canvases.
