Clinical Interests:
I have experience that includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Through prior clinical experience and graduate school, I have provided services to those individuals experiencing and dealing with challenges related to related to depression, anxiety, attachment issues, adjustment disorders, relationship issues, adolescent issues, college age issues, and who identify as LGBTQ+. This prior experience is in addition to other stressors or life’s experiences and challenges individual are facing. Through my time working in the MCHS Emergency Department, I have worked with individuals in crisis and provided crisis intervention services and completed suicide risk assessments.
Clinical Approach:
I strive to utilize a strengths-focused approach with a positive regard during sessions. I strive to create a safe, inviting, and welcoming space for my clients. I believe in meeting the client where they are at and reinforcing that they are the expert in their life and their life experiences. This approach is met by utilizing trauma-informed care with an approach to cultural sensitivity. My focus is to assist and help clients process emotions experienced in a healthy and holistic way. In addition, I am a proud LGBTQ+ ally.
Hobbies:
I relocated from Southeastern Minnesota in 2021 to the La Crosse area and currently live in Holmen, WI with my boyfriend and our dog Oddie. I enjoy spending my time at home with my boyfriend and dog, in addition, to visiting my family. I love coffee and exploring new and local coffee shops! I enjoy reading a good book in my free time, in addition, to making my own sourdough bread and sourdough goodies to share with friends and family!
