More About Amy Gerlach
Clinical Interests:
I work with adult individuals. My areas of focus include anxiety and depression, processing through life transitions, perfectionism, grief and loss, trauma and individuals living with chronic conditions. I also have a background in nutrition and work with individuals to explore their relationship with food and understand the connection between food and mood.
Clinical Approach:
I value taking a mindful, client-centered approach with my clients and empowering them to make changes in their life. I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, including mindfulness, dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing and a bio-psycho-social framework, to provide personalized care for each client. I also received training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a unique and effective approach that replaces negative images that cause symptoms in a variety of disorders, with positive images.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, biking, stand up paddle boarding and spending time with my family and friends.
