More About Andrea Sloane
Clinical Interests:
I have an extensive background working with children, teens and adults. I have worked as an autism specialist and consultant and also within private practice specializing in ADD/ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and depression. I have experience conducting weekly parent education support groups, and have worked with the Southwest Initiative Foundation as an educator regarding children and trauma, as well as at Ridgewater College as a psychology professor.
Clinical Approach:
I believe each person and situation is unique and use therapeutic approaches that meet the needs of each situational context. I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to assist individuals in processing their thoughts and emotions. I feel strongly about creating an atmosphere in which people feel comfortable and supported while beginning their personal journey.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my four children and our mini golden doodle puppy. I like engaging in family activities such as sledding in the winter and swimming in the summer. If I’m not doing something with my family, my main reading interest includes anything having to do with ancient civilizations and will likely have my nose in a book!
