More About Ann Marie Siekkinen
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with adults, adolescents and older adults. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and primarily work with clients who experience depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, self-injury behaviors and suicidal ideation or behavior. I have experience working with clients living with schizophrenia and LGBTQ+ clients.
Clinical Approach:
I believe that clients are the expert when it comes to their own lives. My job is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can Reflect, Confront, Reframe, Validate and Challenge themselves to make changes. I use the Strengths-Based Perspecitve, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoeducation and Trauma-Informed Care with each individual client. I use a collaborative approach to therapy where clients maintain their autonomy and my roles include Counselor, Advocate, Mediator and Consultant.
Hobbies:
I love spending time with my dog Tuuli and my three nephews. In my free time I like to travel, listen to music, cook, read and collect miscellaneous random facts. I like to watch Wild hockey, comedy, action and horror movies.
