More About Annelies White
Clinical Interests:
As a past educator and case manager, I bring my vast experience into my practice and offer my patients a pathway to find hope and healing. My patients teach me every day what it means to be resilient and full of grace. My goal is to help lead my patients toward a path of understanding and acceptance by offering a supportive environment where they can find the answers to their personal questions and endeavors. I enjoy working with those who have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, LGBTQIA+ issues as well as those struggling with grief, physical pain, trauma and stress. I work with a variety of demographics (i.e. age, race, gender, religion) but mainly focus on ages 12 and up.
Clinical Approach:
I believe that it is so important to create an environment where everyone feels safe, heard, never judged and validated so they can share what is weighing on their hearts. I use a vast array of approaches with clients such as motivational interviewing and am mainly a person-centered clinician. I am trained in EMDR and use this modality when appropriate to process trauma that is getting in the way of every day life. I am also trained in DBT and believe that it a group of skills that every person should learn in order to be used in every day life. I will meet you where you are at and work through whatever is making life a challenge. I am also a musician and use music as a tool to help my clients find new ways to cope with life’s stressors. Music is a perfect way for clients to be heard and understood.
Hobbies:
Before I became a mental health therapist, I was a music teacher. I continue to be involved in numerous choirs in the Chippewa Valley and direct a youth choir at my church. I am a member of The Master Singers and also hold a position as a member of their Board of Directors. I believe it is important to contribute to making the Chippewa Valley a better place to live by contributing to the arts in our community. I also love to grow flowers and other plants and during the summer months, I spend the majority of my free time outside working to beautify my yard.
