Clinical Approach:
I use a person-centered approach to therapy while also supporting individuals with evidence-based approaches such as CBT. Therapy is the individual’s time, they get to decide and I get to guide them through that using skills and tools that I’ve learned. I approach therapy as a collaboration, my goal is to help individuals reach their goals and we can talk about the best way to do that. I also come from a Systems Theory lens, we are all part of many systems that impact us greatly, and it’s important to take that into account when working with individuals. The systems we exist in can be really great or they can be oppressive and anywhere in between. I want to work with an individual through the lens of acknowledging the systems they exist in and how they can be empowered as a member of those systems. The therapeutic relationship, to me, is one that we build together in order to reach an individual’s goals.
Hobbies:
In my free time I enjoy making pottery, checking out new local coffee shops, thrifting, spending time with my family and friends, and watching reality TV.
