More About Brett Sharockman
Clinical Interests:
Couples counseling, anxiety and depression, trauma, substance use, and men’s issues, including: unhealthy behaviors/addictions, relationships, adjustments to life stressors, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I also integrate Christian counseling if requested by clients.
Clinical Approach:
Individually, I work with adult men and consider it a privilege to be a part of each man’s story. My primary goal as a therapist is to develop a relationship and create an atmosphere in which you feel safe and comfortable enough to talk about anything. My role is to walk alongside you, support you, and provide you with resources during this part of your story. I generally incorporate concepts and skills relating to how you think, how you process and respond to stressors, and how you communicate in your primary relationships.
I also work with couples. I use a hope-focused approach which seeks to foster love and commitment, grow your emotional connection, and strengthen your relationship.
Hobbies:
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife/family being outdoors and active. We enjoy hiking, pickleball, and exploring new areas. Recently my wife and I have started dancing together more, which has been fantastic! We have four adult children and four adult pets.
