More About Brittany Maxson
Clinical Interests:
I work with adults (ages 20+) who are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions/adjustments, grief and loss, and addiction issues. I also work with LGBTQ+ individuals.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach derives mostly from Psychoanalytic theory (how our past influences who we are now and who we will become) and Feminist Therapy. I also utilize skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. My most important job as a therapist is to create a warm, welcoming and safe space for sharing, self-reflection and processing. Having a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation to successful therapy.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, being in northern MN, baking, playing video games and enjoying musical endeavors such as singing and playing guitar.
