Clinical Interests:

Psychological & Neuropsychological Evaluation (Ages 5-18 years):
Dr. Sytsma specializes in assessing neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum, ADHD, cognitive delays, learning disorders/dyslexia). She also demonstrates competencies in evaluating depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, fetal-alcohol spectrum, and medical-based concerns (e.g., seizures, brain injury, toxin exposure). Her goal is to provide a comprehensive, individualized assessment that enhances diagnostic clarity and improves treatment recommendations.

Outpatient Therapy (Ages 3-18 years):
Dr. Sytsma enjoys providing evidence-based care to children, teens, and their families. She has expertise in working with a diverse range of presenting concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum, anxiety, simple and complex trauma, grief/loss, depression, and behavioral problems. She further has focused experience with factors that often accompany these concerns, such as toileting issues, sleep challenges, adjustment to family changes/divorce, self-esteem, peer or family relationships, and parenting stress.

Clinical Approach:

Dr. Sytsma is a strength-based, neurodiverse-affirming clinician. Within therapy, she primarily utilizes Biofeedback/Neurofeedback in tandem with CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, Family Systems, Solution-Focused, Parent Training, and/or Social Skills Training interventions.

Brynn also incorporates Animal-Assisted therapy with her therapy dog, Leo.
