More About Cass Henriques
Clinical Interests:
I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families, and especially trans and gender-diverse youth. As a trans person, there is nothing more meaningful to me than being a resource to other members of my community. It has been a privilege to join so many clients on their journeys of identity exploration and development. I have worked with clients on their goals related to anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, faith crises/transitions, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, sexual and gender identity, and attachment injuries.
Clinical Approach:
My therapy approach is primarily informed by Attachment-based Family Therapy and Narrative Therapy, and I strive to be social-justice informed in my practice. It is my goal to create an environment of safety and acceptance where clients feel comfortable exploring the challenges, as well as the strengths, in their lives. I enjoy helping clients make progress toward their goals and live according to their values in ways that feel empowering to them.
Hobbies:
I love to spend time outside exploring the natural world (my life goal is to visit every national park in the United States). I also enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and all sorts of board games. I am also an avid baker, podcast listener, and collector of Star Wars Legos.
