More About CJ Stoyanoff
Clinical Interests:
My previous experience has involved working with college students. These students faced many challenges in their lives that we navigated in our work together, such as anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and eating concerns, to name a few. Working within this population of clientele gave me the opportunity to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and identities (i.e. age, race, gender, religion). I strive to continue working with people of various demographics, but have found particular interest in working with those facing women’s issues, navigating disordered eating concerns, anxiety disorders and adjustment disorders.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach to care emphasizes a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and myself while utilizing an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-based approach. I also incorporate CBT and DBT skills and strategies as needed. I am currently growing my knowledge in somatic experiencing techniques to integrate into my practice, as I believe the mind-body connection is vital to a healthy life. My goal with clients is to take a strengths-based, harm-reducing approach while focusing on the client’s personal values, mindfulness, acceptance and cognitive de-fusion skills.
Hobbies:
I have a deep love for reading, particularly fantasy novels. I also enjoy taking my pup for walks, playing and watching sports, spending time with loved ones, and finding ways to be outside as much as possible.
