More About Deanna R. Murphy
Clinical Interests:
I work with individuals & couples who are looking for help in handling life challenges in a healthy way. I enjoy assisting clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, grief & loss, stress, trauma, parenting stressors, relationship distress, challenges with attention & concentration, life transitions, spiritual concerns, and more! I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I enjoy using personality assessments to increase self-understanding and others-understanding. It’s fun and helpful!
Clinical Approach:
I work with individuals & couples who are looking for help in handling life challenges in a healthy way. I think you will find that my approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, collaborative, and effective. I view people holistically and will explore emotional, intellectual, relational, spiritual, and physical factors because they are all connected! I see clients of all faiths. With a B.A. in Biblical Studies & an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, integrating Christian faith into the counseling process is available as well. Overall my hope is that you will find therapy to be a soft place to land as you work through the stressors and challenges of life. I’m here to help and so look forward to meeting you!
Hobbies:
I enjoy time spent with friends and family including our dog. I love playing the cello and piano. I’m an Enneagram nerd, love Masterpiece Theater, and binge-watching home improvement/organization programs.
