More About Elizabeth Honey
Clinical Interests:
I work with children, teens, adults, families, and families. I work with people from all walks of life, including (but not limited to) those looking to overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment difficulties, and family conflict. I have experience in inpatient hospital settings and outpatient settings working with individuals, families, couples, and groups. I love introducing people to new skills for emotional regulation and communication, and processing through things that are keeping them stuck.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is strengths-based and person-centered. I take a full person and environment approach in my work with children, teens, adults, and families. My approach is multifaceted, based in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy (specifically trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), dialectical behavioral therapy skills, and other treatment modalities. I think it is most important to meet you where you are at, come alongside you, and process through things in a collaborative way. You are the expert of your own story, and I believe it is my job to help you take ownership of your story and make meaning out of it.
Hobbies:
Outside of the office, I love being outdoors. I am an avid hiker, camper, traveler, mountain biker, and adventurer. When I am not adventuring, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
