More About Emily Meyer
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with a variety of ages. I have some experience working with individuals across the lifespan focusing on a wide range of concerns. As a therapist, I specialize in working with adjustment disorders, anger issues, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self esteem, suicidal ideation, and work stress. I offer a safe space for exploring personal growth and addressing challenges related to various stages of life. I am dedicated to assisting individuals navigate life’s complexities with empathy and compassion.
Clinical Approach:
I integrate a person-centered approach while utilizing a strengths-based perspective. I thrive to meet the clients I serve where they’re at while working together to create individualized goals and treatment plans. I implement cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and allow there to be a focus on processing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am also drawn to solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) which aligns with my values that change is possible for everyone. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment. For children, I utilize play therapy and art techniques to facilitate expression and coping skills development. Ultimately, I aim to assist clients in overcoming challenges and achieving positive change. My main philosophy is emphasizing the importance of establishing a positive client-counselor relationship in an individualized manner.
Hobbies:
I enjoy the beauty of nature, the warmth of campfires, and the cozy atmosphere of fall weather. I love spending time at the lake with family and friends as often as possible. I also enjoy all sorts of arts and crafts and love painting in my free time. I’m always ready for trying a new and fun DIY activity!
