More About Erika Borscheid
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with children of all ages and specialize in working with children ages 5 and under. I work with children experiencing trauma, PTSD, behavioral issues, grief and loss, anxiety, ADHD, autism and depression. I also work with children who are in Foster care and children going through the process of adoption. In addition, I have experience working with adolescents and young adults.
Clinical Approach:
I utilize Play Therapy as my main clinical approach while working with children. I have intensive training in Experiential Play Therapy and also use other non-directive and directive play therapy approaches. I am trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and utilize this technique for families that may benefit from it. I also use a systemic family therapy approach, teach parenting techniques, do attachment work with children and their parents and utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I am person-centered and strive to provide each individual child and their family with an approach that best suites their needs and brings them towards greater healing and living a healthy life.
Hobbies:
I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, photography, learning new things and most of all spending time with my family and friends.
