More About Faduma Mohamed
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with children and adolescents and their families who struggle with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I have an interest in a wide range of issues including but not limited to, adolescent issues, childhood disorders, sexual abuse, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, cultural issues, and attachment disorders. I primarily work with 6 to 18-year-olds, but I am open to working with individuals up to 21 years old.
Clinical Approach:
Providing a safe space to explore and express emotions is important for the client’s development. I meet the clients where they are at and utilize therapeutic art, toys, and games. The modalities I use are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, strengths-based interventions, and mindfulness. It is important to tailor interventions to the client’s goals and to develop coping skills to become empowered to continue on a journey towards healing and creating positive changes.
Hobbies:
I enjoy reading, going on nature walks, and exploring the twin cities and all that it has to offer.
