More About Gail Onderak
Clinical Interests:
I provide mental health support to adults (18+) dealing with a variety of issues, from adjusting to life transitions to serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI). I have previous clinical experience providing outpatient therapy to individuals involved in the criminal justice system, including clients struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment, schizophrenia, bipolar, and various personality and sexual disorders.
Clinical Approach:
I strive to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where every client feels comfortable being their authentic self. I believe the most powerful aspect of effective counseling is the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. From that foundation, I integrate a variety of techniques to match the client’s needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, existential therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
Hobbies:
I have three wonderful children, two of whom were adopted internationally, that are the loves of my life. But as my youngest is nearing adulthood, I find myself enjoying more time with friends, traveling, playing tennis, working out, and binge watching TV dramas.
