More About Geoffrey Malone
Clinical Interests:
I received my Bachelors of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and my Master’s of Social Work from Aurora University. My clinical interests are depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, Communication struggles, building confidence, and growing self esteem. I have a wide range of experience working with many mental health issues and relational challenges.
Clinical Approach:
It is my belief that my clients are the experts of their lives and my role is to help them navigate those lives. I feel my clients have the power to make the changes they need, but may not recognize how strong they are. That’s where I come in. I get to help remind them of just how strong they really are. I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches to work with my clients, depending on what the client wants or needs. These may include CBT, DBT skills, Psychodynamic, Motivational interviewing, or others. However the therapy is provided, it will always be client-centered.
Hobbies:
I consider myself a “Plant Geek”. I love all things growing. When not in my office, you will find me in my yard somewhere, digging in the dirt. I also enjoy camping, hiking, backpacking, and paddling. I guess you could say I love the outdoors!
