More About Heather Duzynski
Clinical Interests:
I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate mental health challenges. My clinical interests include treating individuals with ADHD, depression, anxiety, mood swings, and trauma. I find it deeply rewarding to work collaboratively with patients and their families to create personalized care plans that foster resilience, growth, and emotional well-being. By providing a supportive and compassionate environment, I strive to empower young people to overcome challenges and thrive.
Clinical Approach:
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my approach to treating children, adolescents, and young adults centers on meeting them where they are in life. I believe in fostering a therapeutic partnership that encourages growth through therapy and focuses on making meaningful changes with the most effective yet minimal use of medications. While medications cannot change life circumstances, they can provide the stability needed to feel calmer and less overwhelmed by day-to-day challenges. My goal is to help patients gain the energy and clarity to focus on what truly matters and take steps toward improving their overall well-being and quality of life.
I have over 14 years in healthcare working inpatient mental health and emergency medicine so I greatly value making sure my patients are routinely working with their primary care providers to make sure both their physical and mental health care needs are met. Also, therapy is cool. :-) I will encourage my patients to see therapists!
Hobbies:
I enjoy hanging out with my kids, my partner, my family, and my pets. In the warmer months of the year I enjoy boating, attending summer festivals, and relaxing by the beach. In the winter months I enjoy movies, my hot tub, and short naps.
