More About Ivan Milicevic
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I graduated with honors from Missouri Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, then returned to receive my Masters of Arts in Counseling. I have worked in the field of Mental Health for over ten years both as a clinician and a leader.
I have vast experience of engaging in therapy with a diverse population of children and adults with unique identities, strengths, barriers, and goals. My therapeutic style is grounded in the person-centered approach, while I utilize a range of other evidenced-based interventions and techniques including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches.
I have worked with people who experience depression and anxiety, grief and loss, post-traumatic stress, and other behavioral health barriers. My strengths as a therapist include assisting people who are trying to improve their moods, be more mindful of the present moment, strengthen relationship boundaries, increase engagement in meaningful/productive activities, and rebuild a sense of self and purpose after trauma and loss.
Additionally, I, Ivan Milicevic, am a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor-Youth, and Question Pursue Respond (QPR) Instructor. I enjoy providing education and work towards reducing stigma associated with mental health across communities.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, spending time outdoors, watching sports, and traveling the world. My most important travels are my visits back to my homeland of Croatia.
