Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is client centered and trauma informed. Through assessment, I approach a presented issue through multiple lenses in order to appropriately apply treatment. Some examples include introducing new perspectives, focusing on self-discovery and self-awareness, and building/strengthening emotion regulation skills. The client-therapist relationship is best built on transparency and working together to build the session and treatment plan that is tailored to the client’s needs.
Hobbies:
I strongly believe in the healing and energizing properties of nature. If the sun is out (and it is warm) I am outside, whether that be working in the garden, biking, or hiking. I spend my free time with my husband, two dogs, and horse as well as family in the area. Other hobbies include reading, writing, and completing various house projects. Having lived in Cedar Rapids during my youth, I moved back to the area from Des Moines and look forward to working with and assisting the Cedar Rapids and surrounding community.
