More About Jake Levine
Clinical Interests:
As a therapist, I enjoy working with those who feel an emptiness in their life to identify meaningful ways to create change, feel at home in their skin, and regain a sense of personal wholeness. I have extensive experience working with teens and young adults, particularly queer folks and neurodivergent folks. These identities present unique challenges in life that need unique supports from a therapist who can understand the complexities of navigating life from a place of otherness.
I also specialize in working with those with chronic/serious illness, their caregivers, and clients experiencing grief and loss. Grief and loss is a part of all our lives, and yet it is often intensely isolating. I am here to walk alongside you on your journey, to witness your grief and struggle, and to help find a path forward that honors your loss and embraces our human capacity for healing and joy.
Clinical Approach:
I create a warm and judgement-free space for my clients to feel safe processing difficult emotions, supported through challenging moments, and empowered to explore and discover their most authentic selves. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent ten years working with children and adolescents in religious communities to facilitate communal and supportive youth-led spaces around the US and overseas. As a result, I am a strong believer in using spirituality as a means for healing, comfort, and personal change. I am also an avid lover of the outdoors with a deep respect for the natural world, and I often incorporate connections with plants, animals, and nature into my therapeutic style.
Hobbies:
I enjoy anything that I can do that lets me appreciate all the incredible nature the world has to offer. When not hiking, camping, or biking, you can find me tending to my houseplants and garden, playing with my dogs, or being ignored by my cat (unless he wants his chin scratched, then I get his attention). You can also find me at your local drag show, my absolute favorite art form.
