More About Jana Schilmoeller
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include working with individuals facing substance use challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, relational, and adult attachment issues. I also enjoy supporting families, particularly those with adolescent children, as well as couples and individuals navigating major life transitions.
Clinical Approach:
I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and valued. Rooted in an attachment-based and psychodynamic framework, my approach is collaborative and client-driven, emphasizing strengths and self-determination. I take an integrative approach, tailoring each session to the client’s unique needs. This may include CBT, role-playing, mindfulness, or other techniques that best support their journey. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families create self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful connections in their lives.
Hobbies:
My favorite place to be is in nature. I love exploring Minnesota’s North Shore along Lake Superior, backpacking through the Boundary Waters wilderness, and spending time with family at our cabin in northern Wisconsin. I also enjoy time with my two senior dogs, traveling, catching up with friends over coffee, and reading and good book.
