More About Jenna Swallow
Clinical Interests:
I practice Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Philosophies/Techniques, and Rogerian Philosophies/Techniques. I look forward to working with clients who are seeking help for PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Eating disorders, Self-image/confidence, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, social anxiety, grief/loss, adjustment disorders, adolescent issues, stress management/work issues, suicidal ideations/self-harm, and weight loss.
Clinical Approach:
I utilize techniques and philosophies that foster self-empowerment and self-awareness, which means understanding yourself better and paying attention to your internal world more than your external world. I use a variety of approaches depending on the client’s needs and what they find the most helpful. I meet the client where they are at in the stages of change, and offer them a compassionate, non-judgmental place to be themselves. I respect my clients’ beliefs and culture the best of my ability. I also encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone and achieve a balance between self-acceptance vs self-improvement.
Hobbies:
Aside from psychology, I also have a passion for nutrition and fitness. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight over the last 3 years and started weightlifting. I’d love to work with people who struggle with losing weight and improve their mentality surrounding their weight loss goals.
