More About Jennifer Metzger
Clinical Interests:
I have worked in the field of Substance Use Disorder for much of the past 14 years, I have worked with many clients adjusting to a new way of life and a new sense of self. Through that experience, I have utilized their time in therapy to assist in identifying and managing a variety of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and relationship conflict. I see each client as the expert in their own lives and want to help each one thrive rather than simply survive.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is grounded in respect for my client and genuine interest in understanding their experience. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy to assist clients in making sense of their experiences in the world. Use of these theories help clients develop coping skills to help manage both day to day and long term stressors.
Hobbies:
When I am not at work I use my time to enjoy my family, re-energize through yoga, and meet friends for coffee.
