More About Kate Miller

Clinical Interests:

I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and children who are experiencing a variety of joys and challenges. My areas of interest include personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, substance use, adoption, and more. I have experience in a variety of environments, including with adults in residential treatment centers and hospital units, as an in-home counselor supporting children and their families, and as an outpatient therapist.

Clinical Approach:

I am passionate about helping people explore their values and strengths in order to create meaningful change. My person-centered approach integrates a variety of evidence-based practices, including mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). I believe that therapy should be a relationship in which clients feel safe, accepted, and empowered to grow, and I walk alongside each client in the context of their unique needs and individual abilities.

Hobbies:

I enjoy reading, camping, traveling, swimming, and spending time with my family. I find joy in being outdoors, learning new things, and laughing at my dogs and cats.
