More About Katelyn Yliniemi
Clinical Interests:
I personally love working with the adult population (ages 18-65), but additionally am passionate about continuing to work with children and adolescents (ages 8-17). I specialize in working with anxiety disorders, depression/mood disorders, and trauma; and enjoy working with a variety of concerns or life transitions such as gender or sexual identity concerns, family/relationship stress, religion/spirituality, eating concerns, financial or job status worries, etc.
Clinical Approach:
I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), while also keeping in mind that every individual is different and may have unique interests or needs in therapy. I utilize a collaborative diagnostic and treatment planning process, and adjust my approach based on my client’s needs and goals for therapy.
Hobbies:
My hobbies include getting outdoors (in the summer, of course) and being at my parent’s lake house with family and doing all the fun lake activities. I also love exploring new movies, shows, podcasts, and books, and am always open to trying new suggestions. I am really looking forward to getting to know you!
