More About LaTiona Washington

Clinical Interests:

I am currently seeing individuals 18 and older. It is my pleasure to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar, PTSD, suicidal ideations, self-esteem, and trauma. I have experience assisting individuals who have had difficulty transitioning from adolescent to adulthood, divorce, court-ordered, college, break up, children leaving home, grief and lost. I also have experience with Chrisitan counseling if you’re interested and if not, I respect your preference. I have worked with a diverse population including those who are Muslim, agnostic, atheist, two spirit, White, Native, Black, Latino, Mexican, Indian, and Biracial to name a few. No matter what your belief or race, I am willing to meet you where you are.

Clinical Approach:

My clinical approach begins with the client providing empathy and actively listening to understand. I acknowledge that we are all different and have individual needs. My focus is client centered with a strength-based approach to problem-solve when need be. In order to assist my clients, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focus cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE). Everyone will experience anxiety and/or depression at one time in their life. When you feel it’s too much, reach out for help. We all need help, and I am here to give you permission to ask for it. If you feel you would like me to help, I would be glad to assist you in becoming the version of “you” you would like to be.

Hobbies:

I have a personal interest in Marvel movies, gaming on my phone and cats. My hobbies are gardening, bowling, and cartoons.
