More About Luca LaVallee
Clinical Interests:
I am interested in working with a diverse range of people from various cultural backgrounds and experiences. I am also interested in helping people navigate identity conflicts or struggles with their gender and/or sexuality, as well as any relationship conflicts.
Clinical Approach:
I practice from a person centered approach which focuses on having unconditional positive regard for the client and fostering a trusting working relationship in order to identify and move forward with the client’s goals. I am a deeply philosophical person so I prioritize really getting to know an individual’s circumstances and the many different systems that are impacting them. I believe that my role as a therapist is to foster non-judgmental curiosity towards oneself with the client in order to encourage the client’s own self knowledge and growth.
Hobbies:
My core value is curiosity and I think this shows up in my hobbies, as I love reading as an exploration of other people’s worlds in an effort to expand my own. I also love and adore nature and so just getting outside and literally touching grass is incredibly important to me. Otherwise, I simply enjoy sharing time with my friends and enjoying delicious food together.
