More About Michelle Lee-McGinnis
Clinical Interests:
Truth? Life throws us challenges. My job is to help people learn how to effectively cope with these challenges. I have worked with people struggling with anxiety, depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, ADD/ADHD, adjustment disorders, PTSD, and substance abuse and am passionate about celebrating individuals and who they are: all ages- kids as young as 9 to adolescents, (yes, I love my teens) to mid-life and seniors! I respect all people as being worthy of dignity and respect regardless of race, ethnicity or gender identity.
Clinical Approach:
I am a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapist (MBCT). I will challenge you to challenge your thoughts! We humans spend an awfully long time thinking… because we can, but how often are you just overwhelmed with all those thoughts ruminating around in your mind? I help people using a combination of cognitive therapy and mindfulness practices, such as meditation, grounding, sensory awareness and breathing to live in a present, non-judgmental manner.
Hobbies:
My interests include meditation and silent retreats. Listening and dancing to music. Leading cooking classes and traveling back home to NY/NJ as often as possible to see family and friends.
