More About Pamera Kezy
Clinical Interests:
I am interested in treating Anxiety Disorders and Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders . I am very interested in raising awareness and reducing the stigma of mental health within the African, black and communities of color. I am also interested in ways in which race, culture and the environment contributes or assist one’ mental health well-being.
Clinical Approach:
My personal belief is that we are all capable and all able. I believe that we all have the tools within in us that are needed to sustain us and help us navigate difficulties that we might encounter on this earth. I operate from a strength based approach to recognize that we all have strengths and highlight those strengths to apply in other aspects of our lives. I also do believe that one’ culture ( race, gender, sexuality ) and environmental background play important roles to one’s mental health and exploring the meaning and role that culture play in everything is critical in our work. Lastly, I believe in a behavioral integrated approach which in summary states that mental health is physical health and vice versa.
Hobbies:
In my free time I like to spend time with family and friends. I like to travel to new countries and new states. I love to try new restaurants and go out to eat. I also enjoy reading, sleeping, listening to music and occasionally watching TV.
