More About Rachel Kloppe

Empathy, compassion, authenticity, and openness are the four main principles that inspire my therapeutic approach with my diverse group of clients. My primary goal when you meet with me is to establish a strong rapport and continuously build our therapeutic relationship. You are the authority on your life and experiences – I aim to be the trusted expert with whom you feel comfortable. I use a variety of evidence-based practices and interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness. For younger clients, I use play therapy in addition to these approaches. As a highly creative person, I enjoy implementing expressive activities and techniques when appropriate.

I have nearly five years of clinical experience working primarily with children and adolescents, and I have worked extensively with parents, guardians, and other family and care team members. I have experience with a large variety of diagnoses and concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, anger, trauma and PTSD, attachment issues, and antisocial behaviors. I also have worked with families on issues including adoption, abuse, grief, and parenting skills. Though I feel that my niche is helping clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, and related concerns, I am always looking to grow as a clinician and challenge myself to learn new approaches and interventions relevant to any concerns my clients may face.I pride myself on being empathetic, compassionate, authentic, and open with my clients and colleagues alike.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2015 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Film Studies. In 2018, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Children and Adolescents. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me at home with my four cats, playing video games, watching movies, being crafty, or listening to K-pop.
