More About Sara Isbell

I received my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University, and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of Missouri-Columbia, with a focus in neuropsychology and clinical research. I  truly enjoy my work as a therapist, you can expect compassion, a genuine connection, and a thoughtful, deep collaboration, with a few laughs along the way.

I have an experiential approach that is steeped in modern emotion theory, Gestalt, attachment theory, and affective neuroscience. Which, put simply, we will be doing a deep dive into emotions and the significance they hold in our bodies and relationships. None of us nor our problems operate in isolation. Rather than looking at a problem by itself, we will form meaningful understanding between all the pieces in your life to see the bigger picture. My goal is to help you create positive, sustainable change within yourself and the relationships that you hold close. We will work collaboratively within the intersection of your mind, brain, and behaviors, to help improve both individual and relational functioning, bolstering resiliance and creating meaning towards a life that makes you proud.

I identify as a lifelong learner and activity enthusiast. I enjoy having many mini adventures, reading, and riding bikes with my family.  Sometimes riding my single-speed road bike or for extra fun, performing for a crowd on a more playful creation such as a 6-foot-tall bike or a giant tricycle.  Playing chef for my family and friends is what I do to decompress.
