More About Sarah Ostwinkle
Clinical Interests:
I have interest in working with survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence, trauma/PTSD, gender and sexuality, anxiety, self-esteem, guilt and shame, depression, student issues, and personality disorders.
Clinical Approach:
I approach therapy from a person-centered, humanistic, and trauma-informed perspective. I strive to “meet people where they are at” and walk alongside them towards healing, peace, and growth. I view clients as the “experts” of their own lives and provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment to work together towards individual goals. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Play Therapy skills, and DBT techniques.
Hobbies:
I love to take my dog, Indi, for hikes with my partner. I enjoy going home to Iowa to visit my family and friends. I enjoy strength training, yoga, watching movies, reading, spending time on the water and completing LEGOs (specifically Harry Potter themed sets).
