More About Madi Mixdorf
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with high schoolers as well as young adults. I specialize in DBT and EMDR therapy and work mostly with client’s who experience depression, anxiety, BPD, and trauma.
Clinical Approach:
I am most experienced with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which can help client’s improve their distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation skills. I am also trained in EMDR where the goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. I believe that every person has value and an unique story to share as well as their own distinct perspective that will be an asset to your healing process. Everyone has strengths, and it’s my job to help you utilize these to their fullest potential. I meet clients where they are at and approach each concerns with a holistic perspective. My goal is to make the therapeutic relationship as collaborative as possible and respect that it’s your journey we’re on together.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with family and friends doing a variety of activities. I also enjoy traveling and have a personal goal of making it to all 7 continents, well maybe not Antarctica. I have a dog named Lulu, and she keeps me on my toes!
